Press Updates
The press tab has been updated to reflect our recent win (Best Alternative Band) and prestigious nomination (Album of the Year) at the 2012 IMC Awards. Also 2 reviews of our new single, Grad Song have been added. Grad Song was an album B Side. It didn't quite make the record, but is a crowd favorite at shows. We're releasing it on iTunes very soon to share it with the world. STAY TUNED for our cover story in I Am Entertainment magazine. The May/June issue should be dropping by the end of next week.
Best Alternative Band at the 2012 IMC Awards
alchalant was named Best Alternative Band at the 2012 IMC Awards at The House of Blues, West Hollywood.
This is the acceptance speech I did NOT have prepared in Hollywood this past Sunday..
My name is Alex of the Detroit band alchalant. I failed to prepare a proper acceptance speech for 2012 Indie Music Channel Awards at the House of Blues, West Hollywood this past Sunday night. We came home tonight with an award for Best Alternative Band. So here it goes...
This award is particularly prestigious. It highlights the hard work, dedication, and antics of the entire group.
-I would not be in this position without my band... Todd Errion and Christopher Shaun Hobbs.
-I would also like to personally thank Mom, Dad, and my family for continued support, enthusiasm, and guidance.
-Thank you Cheryl, for often being the voice of reason. For supporting your husband's passion for performing.
-My best friend RJ Ritter. And Steve Brittain. For providing muscle, wheels, and operating audio/visual equipment for months out of the kindness of their hearts.
-Thanks to our growing street team... The alchalant army (I will not list names to avoid offending anyone I may forget to mention).
-Thanks to my mentors Eric DiBerardo, Tom Court, Dennis Tini, Steve Carryer, and Todd Thamer. You have all had part in shaping me into a business orientated musician. I am very humble and gracious for your time and encouragement in the past.
-Thanks to all my peers. We are strengthening the Detroit rock scene together a step at a time.

Hey everyone! Would like to direct everyone's attention to our Photos page. We just got our promo/press photos back from Kristi Gnyp Photography. She did some excellent work. We will be picking 3 of the photos for our I Am Entertainment magazine feature in the May/June issue.
alchalant performing in Hollywood
Yes that is correct.
alchalant will be performing the new single Grad Song at a private party at Sunset Gower Studios in Hollywood CA. Thanks to Chris Ewing and the Indie Music Channel for the opportunity to perform for our peers and entertainment professionals at a special party the day before the IMC Awards. Wish us luck.

Short Live Performance Hiatus for PR and Marketing
We will be taking a short hiatus from performing live for the month of April 2012 to pursue some marketing and PR opportunities.
Don't worry, we'll be back on stage in the Detroit area in May!
We will be traveling to California to honor our nominations at the Indie Music Channel Awards at The House of Blues in Hollywood on April 29th.
We are coordinating a photo shoot for future press coverage.
I Am Entertainment magazine will be advertising and featuring the band in the May/June issue.
We will be noted on the cover of the issue, feature a full page ad, and an interview.
A review of the album and promotional campaign will begin on their homesite shortly. Stay tuned for more details.
The single Better Off Dead, from the self titled album has just been released. 3 reviews from Review You are on the way.
A brand new track, Grad Song, will be released as a single near the end of April with press coverage as well in May.
Muzik Reviews are conducting a syndicated review of our album. It will be posted on a plethora of online outlets.

Our 'sticker singles' will arrive soon. Come to a show and purchase one for $1.
FYI - Sticker singles are a new innovation in both physical AND digital music marketing.
The 4.75 x 4.75 inch bumper sticker (size of a CD cover) is a physical product for promotion.
Once peeling the sticker, there is a code for a digital download of the song via CDbaby.
Sticker singles are great in merging physical and digital promotion into one product.
